What We Believe

At Jesus Center Community Church, Jesus is at the center of everything we do. We believe faith is more than attending church. It is a daily journey of following Jesus, becoming more like Him, and living out His truth in every area of life.

01 — We Believe in God

We believe there is one true and living God who eternally exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory. He is the Creator of all things, perfect in love, wisdom, holiness, and power. God desires a personal relationship with every person and is actively involved in our lives today.

Matthew 28:19 — “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”

02— We Believe in Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, ascended into heaven, and will one day personally and visibly return.

Through Jesus alone, we receive forgiveness, salvation, and the gift of eternal life.

John 14:6 — Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”

03 — We Believe in the Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit lives within every believer, helping us grow in faith, understand God's truth, and live a life that honors Jesus.

We believe in the present-day ministry of the Holy Spirit and in all the biblical gifts of the Spirit. We believe the Holy Spirit still works powerfully today through His presence, guidance, gifts, healing, and empowerment for ministry and that believers can be empowered by the Holy Spirit for witness and service.

Acts 1:8 — Jesus said, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses...”

04 — We Believe the Bible

We believe the Bible is God's fully inspired and authoritative Word and our foundation and final authority for faith, truth, and daily living. We believe God's Word is trustworthy, timeless, and relevant for every generation and is meant not only to be known, but lived.

2 Timothy 3:16–17 — “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness.”

05 — We Believe in Salvation

We believe every person is loved by God but separated from Him by sin. Salvation is a gift of God's grace made possible through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

When we repent of our sins and place our faith in Jesus, we are forgiven, made new by the Holy Spirit, and welcomed into God's family.

John 3:16–17 — “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life... that the world might be saved through Him.”

06 — We Believe in the Church

We believe the Church is the living body of Christ, made up of all who have placed their faith in Jesus, with Christ as its Head. The Church exists to worship God, make disciples, serve others, and share the hope of the Gospel with the world.

We are committed to creating a church family where people are welcomed, known, cared for, challenged, and encouraged to grow in their relationship with Jesus.

Matthew 16:18 — Jesus said, “I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.”

07 — We Believe in Baptism and Communion

We believe water baptism by immersion is a public declaration of a person's faith in Jesus Christ and their commitment to follow Him.

We believe communion is a meaningful reminder of Christ's sacrifice and an opportunity for believers to remember His grace, celebrate His victory, and proclaim His return.

Matthew 28:19 — Jesus said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”

Luke 22:19 — Jesus said, “Do this in remembrance of Me.”

08 — We Believe in Prayer and Healing

We believe God hears and answers prayer. Prayer changes lives, strengthens our faith, and draws us closer to God.

We believe God still heals, restores, and works miracles according to His will. We practice the laying on of hands for prayer, healing, the empowering and gifts of the Holy Spirit, and the recognition and commissioning of leaders as taught in Scripture.

James 5:14–15 — “Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him... and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick.”

09 — We Believe in the Return of Christ

We believe Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return to earth. We believe in the resurrection of the dead, final judgment, the fulfillment of God's Kingdom, eternal life with Him for those who belong to Christ, and eternal separation from God for those who reject Him.

John 5:28–29 — Jesus said, “An hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, and will come forth... those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.”

10 — What This Means for Us

Our desire is simple:

To help people follow Jesus, become like Him, and live out His truth every day.

Everything we do flows from that mission. We believe following Jesus means more than attending church or simply knowing what the Bible says. We are called to become disciples who live out the teachings of Jesus every day.

We believe lives are transformed as people encounter Jesus, grow in authentic community, discover their purpose, and learn to follow Him in both the good and the hard seasons of life.

Luke 9:23 — Jesus said, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.”
